How to Make 3 Minute Chocolate Mug Cake | eHow.com

3 minute Mug Cake
I've been told the 3 minute Chocolate Mug Cake is the most Dangerous cake in the world. You'll have to make my cake recipe and see if you agree.
Difficulty: Easy

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 Coffee Mug
  • 4 Tablespoons flour
  • 4 Tablespoons sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons baking cocoa
  • 1 Egg
  • 3-4 Tablespoons milk
  • 3 Tablespoons oil
  • 3 Tablespoons Chocolate chips (optional)
  • Small splash of vanilla
  1. Get a coffee mug of choice. If you are making this as a gift choose a coffee mug especially for that person. If you are making it simply to eat just grab your favorite coffee mug.
  2.
Add dry ingredients to coffee mug and mix well.
  3.
Add the egg and mix thoroughly.
  4.
Pour in the milk and oil and mix well.
  5.
Add chocolate chips ( I used white chocolate as that is what I had) and vanilla and mix again.
  6.
Put your coffee mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts. The cake will rise over the top of the mug, don't be alarmed.
  7.
Allow to cool a little, tip out onto plate if desired and eat.
  8. And you might be asking why is this the most dangerous cake in the world? Because we are only minutes away from chocolate cake at any time of the day or night.

Tips & Warnings

  • This can serve 2 if you want to share.
  • You can add a few nuts to make it extra special.
  • A bigger Mug will keep it from going over the top.
  • You know what a cake looks like adjust the milk accordingly.
  • Don't overcook as your cake will be dry. You might want to stop a little early.

Thanksgiving Placecard Markers

This is a really cute idea from Wilton

Double the fun this Thanksgiving by creating autumn-inspired place cards for the holiday table. Not only do they enhance the décor, but make scrumptious mini desserts to enjoy after the big meal.

Here´s how easy they are to make! Begin by pouring melted Candy Melts into mini loaf pan cavities and refrigerate until firm. Next, use additional melted candy to write guests´ names on the cards and to brush the edges. Dip each edge into fall-themed sprinkles to create a festive border. Your place cards are ready! Guests will be as impressed by the custom place cards as they are by the turkey and trimmings. The "cards" can be wrapped in plastic and enjoyed later if everyone is too "full" to eat another bite after the Thanksgiving feast.

Makes: Each candy serves 1.
Thanksgiving Placecard Markers

instructions

*Brand confectionery coating.
Melt Candy Melts according to package instructions. Pour into mini loaf pan cavities creating a layer 1/8 to 1/4 inch deep. Refrigerate until firm. Unmold.
Place melted candy in disposable decorating bags; cut a small hole in tip. Write name on plaque with contrasting melted candy.
Brush edges of candy plaque with additional melted candy. Dip each edge into sprinkles. Repeat with remaining plaques.
Refrigerate until firm. Cut additional Candy Melt in half; trim one edge flat to create right angle. Attach both halves to back of plaque to act as a stand.

Classroom Royal Icing Recipe

Ingredients:

Makes: About 3 cups of icing.

instructions

Beat all ingredients until icing forms peaks (7-10 minutes at low speed with a heavy-duty mixer, 10-12 minutes at high speed with a hand-held mixer).
NOTE: Keep all utensils completely grease-free for proper icing consistency.
* For stiffer icing, use 1 tablespoon less water.
**When using large countertop mixer or for stiffer icing, use 1 tablespoon less water.
Thinned Royal Icing: To thin for pouring, add 1 teaspoon water per cup of royal icing. Use grease-free spoon or spatula to stir slowly. Add 1/2 teaspoon water at a time until you reach proper consistency.

Quick Pour Fondant Recipe

This is from the Wilton website, and I plan on adding this to my cup class next month or maybe even this month.

Quick-Pour Fondant Icing is a great choice for covering cakes, cupcakes, cookies or petits fours with a dazzling silky finish.

Ingredients:

Makes: About 2 1/2 cups of icing.

instructions

Cover cupcakes lightly with buttercream icing. Let set 15 minutes.
Place sugar in saucepan. Combine water and corn syrup; add to sugar and stir until well-mixed. Cook over low heat. Don't allow temperature of mixture to exceed 100°F. Remove from heat; stir in extract and icing color.
Place cooled cupcakes or mini cakes on cooling grid positioned over cookie sheet or pan to catch excess icing. Cupcakes which will be covered completely should be turned bottom side up. Pour icing on center of cupcake using pan or measuring cup. Or, pipe icing from a cut decorating bag. Cover the cupcake completely, or use your coating as a glaze to simply cover tops and drip over the sides. Touch up any bare spots with spatula. Let set.
Excess icing may be reheated just to pouring consistency. Don’t overheat the icing as it will lose its shiny finish.
